I'm a clinical intern completing my MSW at Binghamton University, and I see clients here as part of my practicum on the path toward LCSW licensure. My clinical foundation was built in direct service to LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities: supporting older adults through late-in-life coming out, grief, and isolation at SAGE, and coordinating care for transgender immigrants and BIPOC TGNC clients at Translatinx Network.
That work shapes how I show up now. I bring a queer, Black, culturally grounded lens into the room rather than leaving it at the door, and I understand healing as something communal and embodied, not just cognitive.
I'm also a poet and co-founder of a Brooklyn poetry collective. That isn't separate from how I work. It's the same instinct for language, honesty, and witnessing, applied in a different room.
I take a relational, affirming approach rooted in directness and warmth in equal measure. We'll name things plainly, because I've found there's real clarifying power in that, and we'll build from what's actually happening rather than what should be.
My goal is momentum you can sustain, not insight for its own sake. Something that holds up outside the room.
Sin earned their BSW from Hunter College and is completing their MSW at Binghamton University. Their clinical training has been in direct service to LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, including internships at SAGE and Translatinx Network, and they see clients in person in New York City and virtually across the state.
Making breakfast. It's the same every morning: healing frequencies playing while I get going, boiled eggs, toast with jam and butter, and tea with milk and honey.
What’s a small daily ritual that grounds you?
A screenwriter for film and television.
If you weren’t a therapist, what would you be doing?
A blackberry pie matcha, specifically from Rhythm Zero. So good.
What’s your go-to coffee or tea order?
The beach. I feel connected to water and how calming and grounding it is, and I love to swim and be carried by the waves.
Where’s your happy place?
I'm a runner, about two years in now. A 5k and a half marathon so far.
What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you?
The Odyssey. It asks what success and victory really are, and what they cost. So many parallels to now.
