Every part of you has a positive intention.

Most of us carry a younger self who shows up when things get hard. Maybe it’s the one who goes quiet when someone raises their voice, the one who feels they have to be perfect, or the one who gets angry quickly and often. I love working with these inner children, with individuals and couples alike, to better understand them and find ways to help them cope with life’s difficulties.

I’m warm, playful, and honest about what I notice. I’m especially drawn to patterns, whether that’s a conflict that keeps playing out, an anxious thought that keeps looping, or a way of coping that repeats even though it doesn’t really work. Often people become stuck in one way or another. Our work is to be curious about why.

How I work

I firmly believe that you are the expert on your own life. I take an integrative approach to psychotherapy, building a genuine relationship that supports you while offering practical cognitive-behavioral tools when they’re useful. I help clients get to know the different parts of themselves, because I believe every part of us has a positive intention, and our most difficult parts are often the ones hurting most. When these difficult parts feel understood, they have less need to take over.

Some clients come for short-term support with a specific issue, and others stay for long-term, deeper work. Both are welcome. We’ll go as quickly or as slowly as feels right to you, since this is your space.

Beyond the Credentials

I love taking walks in the park while listening to Conan O’Brien’s or Amy Poehler’s podcasts.

What’s a small daily ritual that grounds you?

I always wanted to be a photojournalist, traveling and meeting people along the way.

If you weren’t a therapist, what would you be doing?

Matcha, but made with water instead of milk!

What’s your go-to coffee or tea order?

I can never say no to a dark movie theater with some select candy and snacks.

Where’s your happy place?

I’m a frustrated cat lover! I love them, but sadly I’m allergic.

What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you?

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. I found it tragic and beautiful.

What book has inspired you recently?
